In our age it is easy to forget the 20th Century enthusiasm of intellectuals, and the populous support for the ideals of Socialism. This video documents the ascendancy of Clement Atlee in Britain and the challenges of democratic socialism, the rise of Mao’s version of communism, Julius Nyerere’s socialistic slide into dictatorship, and the early socialistic experiments with Kibbutz in Israel.
